Archaeological staff from the National Museum have discovered a number of amber beads at the site in Co Mayo where two Bronze Age gold torcs were discovered last week.

The beads, which were found at a beach in Dooyork, would have formed part of a necklace, which were common during the Bronze Age.

The amber used in them was imported from the Baltics, according to a spokesperson for the National Museum.
