Cowen defends new EU Rapid Reaction Force

The Minister for Foreign Affairs has defended Ireland’s participation in the new EU Rapid Reaction Force.

Brian Cowen, speaking at the Royal Irish Academy in Dublin, said the events of September 11 show that co-operation is necessary to enhance the prospects for peace.
