Lawyers for the State have told the Special Criminal Court that the case against Colm Murphy, the only man charged to date in connection with the Omagh bombing, depends on admissions he allegedly made while in garda custody.

In his closing speech for the prosecution, Tom O’Connell, SC, said Mr Murphy admitted giving his mobile phone to a known republican in the knowledge that it would be used to move a bomb across the border.
