O'Rourke faces no confidence vote

Mary O’Rourke will face a vote of no confidence tonight aimed at removing her from her post as Public Enterprise Minister.

However, it is highly unlikely that the joint Fine Gael, Labour and Green party motion will succeed.

The Private Members’ motion describes Mrs O’Rourke as incompetent and cites 15 reasons why she should be sacked.

These include her handling of the Aer Lingus crisis and traffic chaos in Irish cities.

In last night’s opening of the debate, Mary O’Rourke slammed each of the opposition leaders, and challenged them to a debate at any stage on her record in office.
