Toddler killed in pillar tragedy

A toddler has been killed in a car accident in Clondalkin in west Dublin.

The two-and-a-half year old girl was playing in her front garden in Melrose Avenue yesterday evening when a car struck a gateway pillar.

The pillar fell on the little girl.

She was rushed to Tallaght hospital, where she was pronounced dead on arrival.
