Banotti slams Govt failure on Aer Lingus
MEP Mary Banotti has said she is worried that the Government is not fulfilling its promise to fight for permission to give state aid to Aer Lingus.
Public Enterprise Minister Mary O’Rourke has promised to do her best to secure such permission, but, according to Ms Banotti, the European Commission has not been fully briefed on the situation facing Aer Lingus.
She said union representatives who lobbied the EC told her that the commission does not understand the crisis at Aer Lingus.
Ms Banotti has said the Government is clearly not making the effort it said it would.
