Irish airport workers will today launch a campaign to save Aer Lingus after the company revealed plans to shed 2,500 jobs yesterday.

The national airline has been struggling for some time, but with the aviation industry worldwide in crisis following the September 11 attacks, Aer Lingus has had to scale back its operations by 40%.
