The Labour Party has said Public Enterprise Minister Mary O’Rourke should be sacked because of her failure to help Aer Lingus in the wake of the attacks in the US last month.

Party spokesman Emmet Stagg said Mrs O’Rourke was mishandling Aer Lingus’ financial woes before September 11th, but the new crisis has shown that she is incapable of carrying out her duties.

Mr Stagg said Aer Lingus needs a minister who will fight to help it through this temporary crisis.
