Labour slams Govt over ESB charges hike

The Labour Party has blamed the Government for forcing up electricity costs to introduce more competition into the market.

It emerged yesterday that ESB charges are set to rise by 8% in October, but Labour’s Emmet Stagg believes new entrants to the market have demanded the increase before they will set up business.
