Fire destroys factory in Cork city

As many as 100 people could lose their jobs after an overnight fire gutted a factory on the north side of Cork city.

The alert was raised just after midnight and all available units of the city's fire service sped to the scene in Blackpool.

The fire was contained quickly, but the building, which belonged to a company called Key-Tec, was completely destroyed.
