The UUP has criticised the suspension of the Northern Assembly, saying it would prefer to see fresh elections in the North.

The UUP's John Taylor said: "The decision by the Secretary of State to suspend the institutions was not ours, he (John Red) must be hopeful something will happen, we'd be interested to hear what that is".
