Motorists warned of traffic disruption in Co Meath

Gardai have advised people travelling through Co Meath today to expect severe disruption between Dunshauglin and Dunboyne.

Lengthy tailbacks are expected in the area at lunchtime as thousands of music fans descend on Fairyhouse racecourse for day two of the Witnness festival.

Similar numbers of GAA fans will be leaving Meath at the same time en route to Croke Park for the meeting of their team and Westmeath in the All-Ireland football quarter-final.

Gardai have advised motorists to avoid the area around Fairyhouse if possible.
