RUC issues warning over pipe bombs

The public in the North is being warned not to pick up suspicious items after a man picked up a pipe bomb without realising that he was in danger.

The device was thrown at a house on Kylemore Road, Coleraine, Co Derry but

failed to explode.

Several homes were evacuated during a follow up security operation.

The bomb has been made safe by experts from the British Army.
