MEPs to debate Nice Treaty
Members of the European Parliament are to debate the result of the Nice Treaty Referendum.
The issue has dominated the opening session of the June sitting of the parliament in the French city of Strasbourg.
Politicians from across Europe have opted to set aside time on Wednesday for a special debate.
The debate will replace one on human rights, which has been re-scheduled until the July sitting.
A number of Irish MEPs said it should be left up to the people here to try to find a way forward following last week’s rejection.
