Reading of Haughey evidence continues
The Moriarty Tribunal will today continue the reading of the evidence of Charles Haughey into the public record.
The former Taoiseach is insisting that he gave the testimony against his will and contrary to doctors orders.
Yesterday, tribunal lawyers gave a synopsis of the evidence, which was taken over a two-month period.
The document, which runs to almost 500 pages, concentrates mainly on money raised for former Tánaiste Brian Lenihan's liver transplant fund and lodgements made to Mr Haughey's account for that purpose.
Mr Haughey denied knowledge of the cheques, which ended up being used to pay his bills and said that he has not lodged a cheque in thirty years.
He also claims that he was not under any legal liability to repay debts generated by his agent.
His answers to questions on Charvet suits and meals at Le Coq Hardi will be revealed, along with details of his purchase of the yacht Celtic Mist and donations to his son's company, Celtic Helicopters.
