The Garvaghy Rd residents are to meet the Parades Commission today to discuss their concerns about an Orange parade being allowed to hold a rally close to the area on Saturday.

The Orange protest is to mark a thousand days since they were first re-routed by the Commission and begins at Hillsborough, Co Down before marching through Portadown town centre and on to the edge of the Garvaghy Rd.

It had been originally scheduled for the end of March, but was postponed because of the foot-and-mouth crisis.
