Cork fight victim's name still not released

Gardai in Cork have not yet named the man who died overnight following a row outside a Cork nightclub.

They are still trying to contact all his family members.

The man, who was in his twenties, died from serious injuries sustained following an altercation in a lane outside Sidetracks nightclub on Grafton St, off Oliver Plunkett St at around midnight.

Gardai were called and the man was taken to hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

His body has been removed to Cork University Hospital, where a post mortem will be carried out later today by State Pathologist Dr John Harbison.
