Honorary degree for President
President Mary McAleese was today being awarded an honorary degree at Manchester Metropolitan University.
Prof McAleese was receiving the Doctor of Laws in recognition of her services to legal education, equality and social inclusion.
During the ceremony at the All Saints Campus, Vice-Chancellor Alexandra Burslem will present Prof McAleese for the award which will be conferred by Tom Booth, Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the Board of Governors.
The President is spending two days in Manchester to visit The Lowry Centre and open the city’s Irish Festival and a new website.
