Ahern to meet Blair at Downing St

The Taoiseach and British Prime Minister Tony Blair are to meet today at 10 Downing St for further talks in an attempt to break the current impasse in the peace process.

It is expected that both leaders will discuss whether a deal can be reached on the outstanding issues of decommissioning, demilitarisation and police reform.

If they feel agreement is close, negotiations may switch to a summit in the North on Friday.
