Irish nun dies in Caribbean attack

An Irish nun has been killed in a cathedral on a Caribbean island in an attack by two men who claim they were sent by God to combat corruption in the Catholic Church. 72- year - old Sister Theresa Egan is believed to have been hacked by a machete as 13 others were set on fire.

The attack happened during mass at the Bascilica of the Immaculate Conception on the island of Saint Lucia. The two men, who later identified themselves as Rastafarians, burst in carrying machetes and a blowtorch. One man doused worshippers in petrol as the other set them alight. It is believed Sister Egan has been away from Ireland for 50 years.
