Up to a dozen homes in Limerick city were flooded in up to three feet of water in the early hours of Saturday morning.

One resident took a video of the dramatic flooding in their home at Bengal Terrace, on Kilmallock Road in Limerick.

The resident opens their side door which releases the floodwater from their destroyed home.

The incident occurred following a burst water main which Irish Water crews worked on to restore water supply to all affected.

Irish Water stated on its website:

“Repairs to a burst water main may cause supply disruptions to Killmallock Road, Musgrave Street and surrounding areas of Limerick City.

“Crews are working to restore supply to all affected areas as soon as possible.”
