Boy is back in town: Phil Lynott statue returns to Harry Street

The statue of the Thin Lizzy star was originally unveiled in 2005 by his mother, Philomena. It has been removed for repair a number of times since, and Philomena was on hand again today to welcome the statue back.

"Everyone loves Philip," she told those gathered around.

The bronze Lynott had been hit by a truck, causing damage to the statue's bass guitar and hand.

The statue was sculpted by Paul Daly for the Róisín Dubh trust, which commemorates the life and work of Lynott.
