A legal row over data protection has erupted between the Rape Crisis Network of Ireland (RCNI) and a State agency over its right to publish information gathered from abuse victims.

On Thursday, the Child and Family Agency Tusla published a report on Domestic, Sexual and Gender Based Violence Services using data obtained from up to 56 domestic and sexual violence organisations that it funds.

As reported in some newspapers, the report stated that half of Irish women have experienced sexual harassment and that one in four had experienced physical violence.
