A young man accused of arson was remanded in custody and psychiatric attention was requested for him yesterday.

Detective Garda Jim Bugler arrested 21-year-old Paul O’Donovan at 10am on Saturday morning at his home at 33 Woodview, Pinecroft, Grange, Cork.

The accused was charged with two counts. The first stated that on July 10, he entered a house at Melbourne Court, Bishopstown, Cork, with intent to cause criminal damage by arson. The second count was one of arson where he allegedly caused criminal damage to a shed and contents at the rear of the house.
