Thousands assembled in Trafalgar Square before moving down Whitehall to continue their protest outside the Houses of Parliament.

A Facebook event, set up in the aftermath of Friday's referendum result, to organise a protest had to be cancelled over safety concerns.

Yet, many of the 50,000 who had suggested interested attended regardless.
