Missing Cork man’s body found in slurry pit

The dead man found in a slurry pit in Cork on Thursday has been identified as 31-year-old Diarmuid Twomey, who had been missing since before Christmas.

A postmortem was carried out at Cork University Hospital yesterday, and initial indications are that Mr Twomey had drowned.

His body was discovered on a farm in Rahaniskey, Whitechurch, north of Cork city shortly before 5pm on Thursday.
