IRELAND

It is reported that two Irish men have died in an incident  in Perth.

A double stabbing has occurred in the foyer of the Galway Courthouse this morning. The incident occurred at around 11am.

The bank inquiry has agreed to drastically cut the size of its crisis-hit report  by ignoring any issues which do not relate to the 2008 guarantee or 2010 bailout in a bid to save the year-long investigation.

Taoiseach Enda Kenny has warned nurses that an imminent strike over Ireland’s  ongoing hospital trolley crisis “will not help anyone” as he insisted the problem is being addressed and “the numbers speak for themselves”.

A 25-year old man has been charged with the murder of his mother  in Cork city earlier this week.  Paul Horgan of the same address appeared in court this morning. Garda Mark Durkan told the court he was arrested at Murmont Avenue last Monday morning and taken to Mayfield Garda Station.

The widow of a 37-year-old man who jumped off the Cliffs of Moher on the ninth anniversary of the death of their two-day-old baby girl has told an inquest that her husband was “an amazing father who adored our three boys and myself”.

A teenage boy has died of ebola in Liberia, the first fatality since July  in one of the three west African countries hit hardest by the worst-ever outbreak of the disease.
