Man reacted to being called ‘Boo’

David Butt, of 16 Thomas Davis St, Cobh, Co Cork, was fined €100 yesterday for engaging in threatening behaviour and sentenced to eight months suspended for producing a stick in the course of a dispute to intimidate or injure.

The other man never made a complaint of assault and Butt made amends afterwards. Judge Con O’Leary said Butt appeared to make those positive efforts out of his own actions rather than through the restorative justice scheme.
