Left-wing parties merge ahead of vote

A left-wing merger between the Anti Austerity Alliance and People Before Profit has created the newest force in Irish politics.

With the looming general election in mind, the groups want to maximise their presence in the next Dáil to better their chances of speaking time.

AAA and PBP contacted the Registrar of Political Parties to formally establish ‘Anti Austerity Alliance-People Before Profit’.
