Teenagers arrested after fatal shooting
Jason Doogue, 22, was gunned down by a masked killer on a BMX bicycle in the Greenhills area of Athy on Friday evening.
The victim was rushed to Naas General Hospital for emergency surgery but he was later pronounced dead.
A man in his 40s was arrested shortly after the murder.
Investigating gardaí have since arrested a boy in his early teens and another in his late teens.
They were detained on Saturday under Section 50 of the Criminal Justice Act at Naas Garda station.
The suspect arrested on Friday also remains in custody.
Mr Doogue was sitting on a wall outside his house with a group of friends on Friday when a hooded gunman approached him on a BMX bike and opened fire.
Reports have suggested that the victim had been in a dispute for a number of months with a man suspected of shooting him.
Gardaí have canvassed neighbours on the estate in Athy seeking information and
are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to contact Kildare Garda Station on 045 527730, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666111, or any Garda station.
