A man described by gardaí as the “head of the Dundon McCarthy” gang has been remanded in custody on a charge of threatening to kill his sister’s father in law.

Noel Moore, a well-known Limerick market trader, allegedly told gardaí his daughter in law’s brother, Larry McCarthy, 37, told him he would shoot him and burn down his house.

Limerick District Court was previously told the complainant, Noel Moore, did not wish the matter to go further. However gardai said they are awaiting directions from the Director of Public Prosecutions.
