Mick Wallace: TD’s fixed charges ‘left on the shelf’

A Fine Gael TD had three fixed charges ‘left on the shelf’ and escaped the penalties, Independent TD Mick Wallace claimed in the Dáil.

Mr Wallace also claimed Enda Kenny had approved the promotion of a garda to the role of chief superintendent, despite being advised of allegations of misconduct against the member.

The extraordinary claims were made by the Wexford TD who dismissed efforts yesterday by the Government to reform the force, and said nothing had changed.
