Lack of housing sees people turning to councils

The social housing waiting list in Cork is up almost 10% in a year, reports Noel Baker

THE number of people on the waiting list for social housing in Cork city and county has grown by almost 10% in the past year.

Figures provided by both local authorities show there are 1,401 more people waiting for a home now, than a year ago.
