Drunk man threatened to bite out garda’s eyes

Diners outside a busy hotel witnessed a man strip to the waist and make violent threats against a member of An Garda Síochána shouting at one stage that he would bite his eyes out.

Inspector Mary King said yesterday at Cork District Court that gardaí received a call to the grounds of Christy’s Hotel in Blarney, Co Cork.

There was a report of a disturbance taking place in the car park to the premises close to where people were dining outside the hotel. They found a man with his top off shouting and roaring.
