‘A couple of euro could have saved our son’

The parents of a young boy who died in a fall from a tractor with a defective passenger door said their son’s life could have been saved for the cost of a couple of euro.

‘A couple of euro could have saved our son’

Patrick and Frances Murphy yesterday called on farmers to keep all agricultural machinery well-maintained following the conviction of both the owner of the tractor and the driver when their son, Micheál ‘Haulie’ Murphy, 14, fell from the vehicle at Knocknacullota, Killavullen, Co Cork on August 23, 2013.

Mallow District Court heard the door of the tractor owned by George Ross, 62, and driven by Stephen Murphy, 27, flew open on the afternoon in question and the boy fell out.
