The world’s largest festival of juggling and circus skills continues this weekend, as fireworks light up a harbour festival in west Cork, and the country’s oldest horse race meeting goes ahead in Co Kerry.

From Courtmacsherry in west Cork to Caherciveen in south Kerry, everyone will be out in force to support the major summer events.

The Caherciveen Horse and Pony Races date back more than 200 years to the time and homeplace of Daniel O’Connell. First race tomorrow begins at 1.30pm. In Millstreet town, the European Juggling Convention continues with world-class performers demonstrating spectacular skills.
