Lidl posts hilarious tongue-in-cheek tweets after supermarket mix-up
Entertainment.ie posted Aldi's logo and encouraged their Facebook fans to enter their competition for "a €40 Lidl voucher."
Their mistake was pointed out immediately, with fans asking which of the German supermarkets they meant. Within an hour they had edited the post with the correct brand: Aldi.
"Get your paws on a €40 ALDI (er, ignore what was here before) voucher."
They didn't get away with it though. The mistake was spotted and shared on Twitter by Damien Mulley to his 15,000 followers.

What would have been a soon-forgotten giggle was instantly made memorable by the creative geniuses behind Lidl Ireland's Twitter page. They responded to a tweet about it and offered to also give away a €40 voucher because "we'd hate people to be disappointed."
@damienmulley we'd hate people to be disappointed ... RT and we'll give a €40 voucher to one winner tomorrow :)

Earlier this month Lidl Ireland picked up a Best Facebook Page Owner award at the 2014 Social Media Awards. We think they should be awarded for their Twitter account too.
Meanwhile, Mike Sheridan, the Editor of Entertainment.ie lamented their blunder on his personal Twitter account. He joked that he should hire an intern to blame his own mistakes on.
Lidl Ireland, on a roll at this stage, consoled Mike by saying "it happens to the best of us Mike ;)."
@Immikesheridan it happens to the best of us Mike ;)
