Slather on the sunscreen and take a brolly as mixed bag forecast

Today will be a warm day, with a mixture of sunny spells and cloudy periods. Munster will see the best of the hazy sunshine, with light southwest winds.
Near west coasts, patchy light rain or drizzle will develop later in the day, and there is a small risk of showers in the east, but otherwise it will be a dry day.
Highest temperatures of 18 to 21 degrees are expected, but it will a bit cooler near western coasts.
It promises to be mild and misty tonight, with lowest temperatures of nine to 12 degrees. It will be mostly dry in the eastern half of the country, but rain and drizzle will spread in from the Atlantic, to affect much of Connacht, west Munster and west Ulster before dawn tomorrow.
You might consider getting up early tomorrow as it is expected to start off bright and dry, particularly in eastern coastal counties.
But be warned: Misty conditions, with outbreaks of rain and drizzle, will soon become widespread.
There will also be some hill and coastal fog about, and some of the rain will be heavy.
But all is not lost this June bank holiday as drier, brighter weather is expected to develop in Atlantic coastal areas later in the day.
However, the clearance will be slow to extend eastwards and many other areas are likely to stay cloudy and damp through the afternoon and evening, with some further rain at times.
The temperatures tomorrow are unlikely to match today’s figures with highs of 15 to 18 degrees, which is considered normal for this time of the year.
The good news is that any rain tomorrow is set to clear overnight, giving way to some brighter weather on Monday, with temperatures in the high teens, but mostly confined to the eastern part of the country.
Met Éireann says that the early days of next week will be showery, with some heavy and possibly thundery showers at times.
It will also become cooler with winds increasing, particularly along coastal areas.
But, by then, at least most people will be back at work.
