Businessman avoids jail for sex assault in B&B

A businessman who dragged a teenager into a spare bedroom of a Killarney B&B in the middle of the night and sexually assaulted her has been given a suspended sentence at the Circuit Criminal Court in Tralee.

The man had earlier pleaded guilty to the single count of sexual assault on August 14, 2011.

The now 22-year-old woman, still traumatised by the events, wept openly as the suspended sentence was handed down. She was comforted by her mother.
