RTÉ hit by major internet outage this evening

Internal emails were sent out in the past half hour to inform all employees and staff that the station was have issues.

RTÉ is experiencing a major internet outage at its headquarters in south Dublin, with internal systems reportedly down across the organisation.

The disruption has affected the broadcaster’s app and website, while the Six One News programme is also understood to be experiencing difficulties.

In a statement, RTÉ said: “We are currently experiencing technical difficulties impacting RTÉ’s online services. We apologise for any inconvenience caused and we hope to be fully back online soon.” 

No cause for the outage has yet been identified.
