Former mayor bids to help JP McManus stay in Ireland a bit longer

As JP McManus this week savours racing glory at Cheltenham, a move got under way in Limerick to enable him to come home more often.

As one of 13,000 Irish tax exiles, Mr McManus can only spend 183 days a year at Martinstown Stud, where he has built a €100m mansion.

His main business is conducted out of Geneva, where he has an office and lives for much of his time out of Ireland.
