Ill-repaired 'residential gem' up for €100k amid property debate
The “great potential” building was advertised in recent days by Wilson Moore Estate and Letting Agents, amid an ongoing debate over the impact of a growing property bubble on the market.
Pictures publicised on social media site www.broadsheet.ie suggest the building at Russell Avenue in East Wall is in ill-repair.

While appearing to be structurally sound, the images also show a dilapidated hallway, a kitchen with broken windows and graffiti, a bathroom with green mould and an overgrown small back garden.

During the Celtic Tiger era the two-bed, ground floor property was available for €250,000, a figure that fell substantially during the recession.
However, despite no buyer in more than half a decade, the price is now on the rise again.

“Wilson Moore are delighted to present 78 Russell Avenue to the East Wall property market. In a highly sought-after position and in need of complete restoration, this fantastic, two-bedroom, end-of-terrace shell offers the astute purchaser the chance to create their own dream home.
“Don’t let the rough presentation of this residential gem put you off the wonderful, inner-city lifestyle that with some work can be yours,” the property advert states.
An open viewing of the property, the price for which is broadly in line with rising costs in the capital, takes place today at 1pm.
