Banking trial begins in Dublin - live updates here

The trial of former Anglo Irish Bank chairman Seán FitzPatrick and former executives Pat Whelan and William McAteer begins this morning.

The case, which has been in preparation for years, is expected to last between three and six months, involving 24 million documents and 800 witness statements.
