Holiday homes hit by burglaries

Owners of holiday homes in south Kerry are being asked to check their properties, following a spate of recent burglaries.

Gardaí are investigating reported break-ins at up to a dozen such homes, but believe other homes, unused during the winter months, may also have been hit.

Most of the houses targeted were in the Waterville and Caherdaniel areas, both of which have large numbers of holiday properties.
