Expert group urges funds for repossession statistics

A Government-appointed expert group on repossessions has recommended the Courts Service be funded to provide comprehensive statistics and information on the amount of repossessions.

The expert group has also concluded that there could be savings in how mortgage cases are managed in the courts if documents used by all lenders are formatted in the same way.

However, the group did not make any proposals to change legislation.
