Revenue collects 91% of local property tax

Despite widespread opposition to the tax, up to 91% of last year’s local property tax has been collected by the Revenue Commissioners and €76m has already been collected for next year.

Preliminary data from Revenue shows €242m was collected for 2013.

It also shows that €15.7bn was generated from income tax, €10.3bn from VAT receipts, €4.8bn from excise tax on alcohol, cigarettes, petrol, oil and kerosene.
