According to event organiser Manus O’Callaghan, Irons will be given the title to mark his work in restoring Kilcoe Castle near Ballydehob and for promoting arts and charities over 20 years in West Cork, as well as participating in many environmental campaigns.

“The award also celebrates his award-winning career, including an Oscar, for his work in film, theatre and television,” said Mr O’Callaghan.
