Man admits making €324k illegal gain

Dadibaku Ngkupumu, aged 47, was arraigned yesterday at Cork Circuit Criminal Court, where he admitted all counts against him.
Ngkupumu, of McWill-iam Green, Fortunestown, Tallaght, Dublin, pleaded guilty to one count of making an illegal gain of €57,000 for himself or another person from Avery Dennison at the Cork Airport business park.
He pleaded guilty to 15 further charges, including forgery, dishonestly operating a computer, and operating a computer to make illegal gains. The total of money involved amounted to over €324,000.
Ngkupumu also pleaded guilty to attempting to make a transfer of a further €113,000.
The dates referred to in the charges range from Nov 2012 to Jan 2013.
He has been in custody since his arrest in May.
Eamonn Shanahan, defending, said the High Court had set bail at €10,000 but that Dadibaku had been unable to raise that amount. Mr Shanahan said Dadibaku had been living in Ireland for 16 years and had worked for a number of companies and that this was the first time he had gotten into any kind of trouble.
On the barrister’s application, Judge Seán Ó Donnabháin directed the preparation of a probation report on the defendant in advance of sentencing at Cork Circuit Criminal Court on Nov 22.
