The full weight of the State is needed to bring about a collective solution for the residents of Priory Hall, it was claimed yesterday, as the Government set up talks to sort out a deal for the householders forced to leave their homes two years ago.

The move to bring all stakeholders to the table to hammer out a resolution — under a three-week deadline — for the future of the evacuated site in Dublin came as it emerged the mediation process set up over a year ago has failed to find a solution to the crisis.

Graham Usher, spokes-man for the former Priory Hall Residents, yesterday said the residents welcomed the Government commitment but a solution would have to be reached within the 21-day deadline.
