Inquest into man’s death after pub row adjourned

An inquest into the death of a man who was critically injured during a row outside a Cork pub has been adjourned pending a manslaughter trial.

Sgt Fergus Twomey applied at Cork City Coroner’s Court yesterday for an adjournment of the inquest into Pat Deasy’s death until the criminal proceedings, due to be heard at the October sessions of Cork Circuit Criminal Court, have concluded.

Mr Deasy, aged 57, of McGrath Park, Blackrock, Cork, died at Cork University Hospital on Sept 24 last just over 24 hours after being critically injured during a row outside a pub in Mahon.
